Hospitality & Catering

The study programme will prepare you for a career as a chef in a professional kitchen and will make you highly employable.

During this qualification you will work with local employers on structured work placement, within this offer there will be an opportunity for learners to attend a residential trip abroad.

• Introduction to the hospitality industry

• Customer service in the hospitality industry

• Basic food preparation and cooking

• Preparing and serving drinks

• Introduction to kitchen equipment

• Health and safety and food safety awareness in catering

• Using kitchen equipment

• Food and beverage service skills

On successful completion and with the required English and maths grades you can progress through the levels.

You will be able to seek employment as a professional chef in a variety of contexts, including:

• Hotels

• Restaurants

• Pubs and Gastro pubs

• HM Prisons

• Hospitals/care homes

• Visitor attractions

• Cruise liners

3 GCSE's at any grade, Entry 3 in English if you are a progressing student.

You will be required to compile a portfolio of evidence that can include observations, assignments, practical tests, written tests, oral questions, witness statements and case studies.
