T Levels, Level 3

T Level Technical Qualification in Digital Support Services

This T Level is suitable for anyone wanting a career in digital infrastructure and support.

The T Level is a 2 year programme and will include a 45 day industry placement/ an average of 350 hours over 2-year course and a Technical Qualification, where you will also choose your specialist occupation.

T Levels have been designed with leading businesses and employers to give you the knowledge and skills you need, giving you a head start towards your chosen career path. The qualification also provides you the chance to learn what a real career is like while you continue your studies.

This is a rewarding and challenging course that prepares you for a career working in a Computing/IT environment or for studying a higher level at university.

All students will develop a general understanding of digital:

  • How digital technologies impact business and market environment
  • The ethical and moral implications of digital technology
  • Using data in software design
  • Using digital technologies to analyse and solve problems
  • Digital environments, including physical, virtual and cloud environments
  • Legal and regulatory obligations relating to digital technologies
  • The privacy and confidentiality of personal data
  • The technical, physical and human aspects of internet security
  • Planning digital projects
  • Testing software, hardware and data
  • Digital tools for project management and collaboration

They will also learn about topics specific to digital support services, including:

  • Roles within the digital support services sector
  • Communication in digital support services
  • Fault analysis and problem resolution

Following a T Level, you could progress straight into a skilled profession or continue your studies with a degree or higher apprenticeship.

This includes:

  • Employment in the IT sector
  • Higher Education at University
  • HNC/D in Computing at Selby College

Career options might include becoming an infrastructure technician or a role in IT support.

This course is particularly suitable if you are interested in working in the IT or digital sector or wish to go on to university.

T Levels follow GCSEs and will be equivalent to three A Levels.

5 x GCSE’s at Grade 5 or above, including Maths, English & Science.
