Welcome to the Engineering Department

Recent students have gone on to work for:

Drax Power Station, Doosan Babcock, Hcomm Rail, Highways England, DB Schenker, Allied Glass, GRM Engineering Ltd and Ripon Farm Services, as well as joining the British Army and Royal Air Force. Potential Careers include:

• Electrical Engineer

We work closely with employers and in the last year have had a number of generous donations made by local companies to enhance our students’ learning as well as allowing them to experience industry standard equipment ahead of their next steps, including Drax Power, Greencore, J E Hartleys, ABP Food Group and Doosan Babcock.

Trips & Activities

A standout recent project is the success of our Engineering Race Team who won their category in the UK’s first electric car closed road-race organised by the Greenpower Education Trust in collaboration with Green Port Hull.

Their winning streak didn’t end there as they also brought home another trophy after coming third in the next F24+ Round qualifier at Blyton Park!

Students Dan Callon, Sam Bygrave, Liam Dunn and Lauren Askin, who completed their Level 3 Subsidiary Diplomas in Engineering last summer, were provided with the Greenpower self-build Formula 24 kit car thanks to an initiative by Drax Power. All four students have progressed to careers in the Engineering field.
