Level 4 Business Administration Apprentice

Why did you choose do an Apprenticeship?

I had previously completed Level 2 and Level 3 Business Administration qualifications and was interested in progressing to a Level 4 qualification. This was the next logical step for me to take and would allow me to upskill whilst I was working at York Teaching Hospital.

What were the benefits of doing an Apprenticeship?

I am not good at exams so this method of learning worked very well for me. I enjoyed being able to show examples of work that I was doing as part of my day-to-day job in any scenario. Carrying out the Level 4 Business Administration Apprenticeship reminded me of the importance of some of the basics which I take for advantage and also increased my confidence, especially in terms of presentation skills.

Did your assessor support you in achieving your goals?

I have been very lucky to have such a supportive assessor, Tina, who set manageable ‘chunks’ of work which wasn’t too overwhelming. I was always given timely feedback by Tina, ensuring that I had enough time to make any amendments needed. Tina showed interest in not only getting me through the qualification, but in me as a person – and I cannot thank her enough.

What do you aspire to go on to do?

I will continue in my role as an Admin Team Leader, but I have increased my skills and knowledge to be able to do my job to the best of my ability. During my Apprenticeship, I faced many challenges, including working increased hours, managing a team, lack of staff, home schooling two children and working remotely during a pandemic. So, I hope that I can be an example to others and prove that if I can complete an Apprenticeship programme, then anyone can.
