Foundation Degree in Learning Support

Why did you choose to study at Selby College?

I chose to study at Selby because it is close to home and with a growing family it made more sense and was more convenient . The fact that Selby College also work with other Higher Education Institutions also made me feel confident to study with them. Also being new to the area, I did not want to go further afield.

What do you enjoy the most about your course?

The whole course has been great. I have always been interested in the theory and practice of learning and doing the course gave me better insight into this. The lecturers have been amazing they all have great knowledge and have been very encouraging. Each lecturer I have had the pleasure of coming across has been fantastic and helpful, I also experienced support from my course mates.

What do you plan to go on to do following your time at College?

I have decided to study the BA (Hons) Childhood Studies and Care (Top-Up) and to stay in Selby College to do it. When I started the Foundation Degree, I was doing work placement in a school. Since January, I have been employed by the school and am now receiving a wage whilst studying which is a direct result from studying the Learning Support qualification.
