Meet the students

Beth Kerrigan

BSc (Hons) Sports Coaching and Exercise Science

What did you enjoy the most about your course?

The thing that I enjoyed most about my course was the various opportunities that the College provided to enable me to broaden my studies, such as extra qualifications and experiences. The amount of support that I received from my tutors was also fantastic.

How did your course help you to secure a career in sport and exercise?

The additional qualifications gave me the chance to experience various different sports and environments. This allowed me to focus on a pathway that suited me and allowed me to stand-out from the crowd when applying for my job.

Is there any advice you would like to pass on to current students?

Jump at every opportunity given to you whilst you are at College, you never know what you are going to like. It’s all about taking little steps - I started out as a part time climbing instructor at the local leisure centre which opened up further opportunities in sport for me, which lead me to where I am today. I now work for Leeds United Foundation as a Health and Wellbeing Officer.
