Various models of work placement are available and our team can support you to assess the needs of your business and help match you with the most appropriate learner.
Selby College offers a wide range of courses so we are able to support most industries. Our learners can support work placements in the following ways:
These placements can be one or two days per week over an academic year, providing the opportunity for learners to undertake specific work-based projects or develop skills in line with your specific business needs.
These are shorter duration placements of 1 or 2 weeks, which can enable you to support business needs whilst providing valuable experience for the learners.
The opportunity to work with small or large groups to undertake specific tasks such as marketing campaigns or market research.
An opportunity to ‘try before you buy’ for potential apprenticeships or full-time roles, for individuals aged 16-24. Working with the College, we develop a package of learning in employability skills, specific skills needs and other learning aspects to support the learner into work. Learners must be engaged for 6 weeks up to a year, with a placement of around 2 days per week (this can be shared with another employer). Find out more on Traineeships here.
