NCFE Diploma, Level 2

Sport, Exercise & Fitness

This is a one-year work-related course where you will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.

You are also required to practically demonstrate sporting techniques in a range of sports as well as undertake a fitness training programme. You will be expected to complete a work placement within the sports industry, which could potentially lead to further employment opportunities.

The course is ideal for anyone who is interested in a career in Sport.

You will examine a number of areas, including:

  • Participating in Sport
  • Anatomy and Physiology for exercise
  • Introduction to healthy exercise and nutrition
  • Sports Coaching
  • Planning and Running a Sports Event
  • Developing Sporting Skills and Tactical Awareness
  • Performance Analysis for Sport

There will be opportunities to gain additional qualifications. You will also have access to the College’s Sport Academies.

On successful completion, you will be given the opportunity to progress on to higher level courses such as the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport or Sport & Exercise Sciences.

Standard Level 2 entry requirements apply - the minimum requirement is at least four GCSEs at Grade 3, one of which will be in English or Maths. Neither English nor Maths will be below Grade 2. At least 2 GCSE subjects at Grade 3 are required alongside GCSE equivalent qualifications.

Please note: If you have not achieved a Grade 4 or above in GCSE English and/or Maths you will be required to continue studying these alongside your college course.
