This qualification is based on the national occupational standards for spa therapy and includes all the required elements to work effectively as a spa therapist.
You will be taught in our state-of-the-art salon, and in a real spa environment, which will provide you with the opportunity to learn excellent spa therapy skills.
It is important for you to have the opportunity to learn in a real working environment, particularly because this qualification leads to employment in such a client-centred and service orientated sector.
You will be assessed not only in aspects of Spa Therapy but also on professionalism, punctuality and reliability. You will be expected to complete 1 week’s work experience in a salon.
Learners must achieve all mandatory units which include:
• Health and Safety in the Salon
• Client Care and Consultation
• Steam, Sauna and Hydrotherapy
• Body Wraps
• History and Origins of Massage Therapies
• Swedish Massage
• Anatomy and Physiology for the Face and Body Systems.
• Thai stamp massage
• Holistic Facial Treatments
• Spa Pedicure and Spa Manicure
• Promote and Sell Products and Services
In addition, you will study extra units which will be assessed separately these may include: Indian Head Massage, Facial Electrical Treatments, Body Analysis and Social Media Marketing and Managing a Commercial Column.
This qualification could enable you to progress into Higher Education or undertake a career in the industry.
Potential Careers
For this course you must have successfully completed a Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy. You must also hold a minimum of 4 GCSEs grade 4 and above to include Maths and English.
