Access to Higher Education Diploma, Level 3

Health Science Professions

This popular, nationally recognised Access to Higher Education Diploma is designed for students who are planning to continue with their career-related studies at degree-level in Health, Nursing, Midwifery or Allied Health Professions.

Students studying this course will be on campus 2.5 days per week.

Many students use this Access to HE course as a route into a full degree. We work in close partnership with local universities and you will be supported through the UCAS application process, and overall be prepared for study at higher education. Our experienced teaching staff are passionate about their areas of expertise and are committed to helping you to attain your learning goals and meet your personal aims.

With further education and training, successful completion of this Access to Higher Education programme can open up routes to careers in:

• Paramedic

• Adult Nursing

• Paediatric Nursing

• Mental Health Nursing

• Midwifery

  • You must be at least 19 years old
  • GCSE English at Grade C/4 or above
  • Two satisfactory references

Most universities expect students to have grade C/4 in GCSE Mathematics and Science when they apply for their Higher Education course and many are no longer accepting other Level 2 equivalents. You are advised to check the requirements with your chosen higher education institution. It may be possible to study for these qualifications whilst undertaking the Access programme at Selby College.
