Health and Social Care

This Health and Social Care study programmes provide the knowledge needed when working in a health and social care environments, caring for young people, adults, and the elderly.

The programme covers a wide range of areas including; supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health care procedures.

Level 1 learners will visit care settings with their tutor, to gain an understanding of the skills and professional behaviours required when working in the care industry. The average salary you could expect to earn working in the

Health and Social Care sector is from the minimum wage for a care assistant up to £30,000 for a setting manager.

Please Note: Work placement opportunities will be available at all levels.

• Safeguarding
• Human Growth and Development
• Effective Communication

On completion with the appropriate pass and English and maths grades you can progress through the levels. For example learners completing level 1, who follow college rules, attend above 95% and are progressing in maths and English will be offered a place on level 2.

No formal entry requirements

You will be assessed by a range of methods including oral questioning, portfolio building, posters, written assignments and practical tasks.
