Developing Digital Skills for the Workplace

The workplace is changing. Recent experience of the need to work in digital and virtual ways has demonstrated a rapid shift to a more digital work environment. Understanding and developing a range of advanced digital skills will be vital to keep pace with change and to effectively progress.

Our programme will help you to develop a range of digital skills for the workplace, leading to you achieving a NCFE Level 2 Certificate in IT User Skills (ITQ).

Duration: This course is flexible course can be completed in your own time. It is modular in nature with the commitment being equivalent to 110 hours of learning. Modules can be selected to suit own personal needs/interests.

This programme allows learners the opportunity to develop a range of skills that are increasingly prized by employers, offering the chance to learn, use and demonstrate competence in areas such as:

  • Database software
  • Data management
  • Desktop Publishing
  • Imaging
  • Digital Security
  • Web design

Programme delivery will include a combination of structured learning materials and face-to-face delivery with the opportunity to access regular support through the college’s adult learning hub.

The course is available at two levels and the most suitable programme for you will be discussed with our adult learning hub team. Progression may be to the next level of qualification, onto higher-level IT qualifications or a number of other college programmes.

This programme is aimed at learners who are using IT within their job or who plan to pursue a career in a job requiring IT skills. The qualification is suitable for learners using IT systems in a wide range of job roles.
