Course Overview

This course offers students a great insight into the media industry. You will develop practical skills across a wide range of disciplines including camerawork, editing and screenwriting, industry-standard techniques using professional film and editing equipment. You will learn industry standard software such as Adobe Premiere, InDesign and Illustrator, to enable you to develop skills with film editing, animation and print graphics. Photography and journalism skills are also embedded and you will have use of our state-of-the-art photography studio. You will explore traditional media such as single and multi-camera techniques but also digital developments such as viral marketing and online applications.

In year 2 you will further develop your skills with more emphasis on you as the individual, developing your own ideas and career aspirations. You will get expert advice and guidance from your lecturers and visiting industry specialists. You will also create a showreel and portfolio of work as you move towards the completion of an exciting individual project of your own choosing.
