Selby College supports Selby District Business Week

We were delighted to host two Selby District Business Week events at Selby College earlier this month, supporting Selby District Council ’s (SDC) excellent, week-long initiative, which engaged over 300 businesses in total.

The ‘Start, Grow, Inspire’ session showcased the progress made by local media firm Seven Video. Seven’s Paul Sherwood told the story of the business in conversation with SDC’s Julian Rudd and alongside Heidi Green offered advice to business owners in the audience, in an interactive Q&A session. Networking and a business exhibition rounded off the event.

Later that day, the Selby District Economic Partnership Forum brought business owners and local leaders together to discuss skills and employment, with input from Nigel Adams MP, Annabel Jelley, from the Local Enterprise Partnership, and Selby College Principal Phil Sayles and Selby College Director of Business Services Stacey Calvert. Afterwards, visitors went on a tour of Selby College’s excellent training and education facilities.

The week showcased Selby District as a supportive and exciting place for businesses to set up, flourish and grow, with proactive support from the local council. Selby College is working as a key part of the mix, to help businesses find and train the skilled workforce they need.
