Matrix Standard Reaccreditation Success for Selby College

Congratulations and well done to those involved in Selby College’s recent Matrix reaccreditation.

After successfully holding the Matrix Standard since 2004, Selby College has once again been successful in its reaccreditation following an assessment earlier this year.

The Matrix Standard is a unique quality standard for organisations to assess and measure their advice and support services, which ultimately supports individuals in their choice of career, learning, work and life goals.

The College has maintained its high standards of information, advice and guidance (IAG) through continual improvement and monitoring focusing on clear leadership and direction across the whole organisation.

Selby College Principal & Chief Executive Phil Sayles said: “Here at Selby College we offer all of our students excellent careers advice, coaching and support with UCAS – the Matrix reaccreditation demonstrates that we help our students to achieve the goals that build their careers and satisfaction in life, whatever their study route. The high-quality of our provision and the achievements of our learners are testament to this.”

Key comments from Assessment Services assessor, Susan Smith, were that "IAG is managed with clear leadership and direction across the whole organisation. The College showcased a portfolio of student-centred support that is enabling both potential and current Selby College students to realise their desired learning, work, career and life goals."

The report highlights "a passionate team offering wide-ranging support to students through the services delivered – staff are committed and enthusiastic. Resources are appropriate and are of good quality. Staff are a credit to the service, and students' experiences matched the service described.”
