Higher Education Art & Design students head to Venice Biennale

On Thursday 3rd October, Year 1 and Year 2 students studying for a Higher National Diploma in Art and Design (Arts Practice) headed to Venice to visit the Biennale International Arts Festival.

The 58th Art Exhibition, which is titled May You Live In Interesting Times, runs until the 24th November and features the work of 79 participants from all over the world.

The group of 10 students and lecturers stayed in the City of Water until Sunday 6th October and were able to experience all the creative and vibrant culture and sights Venice has to offer, not forgetting the famous Rialto Bridge, the Grand Canal and St Mark’s Square.

The students said: “The galleries were amazing and included some really interesting work… the Biennale was visually beautiful, along with the whole location, there was something inspiring round every corner.”

They added: “The tutors did such a good job with planning the trip, Venice was superb! It was so pretty and the art was unbelievable, we loved it.”
