Construction Lecturer Shaun supports DIY SOS build in Scunthorpe
Construction Lecturer Shaun Hallsworth, who is a joiner and carpenter by trade, was given the support of the College to get involved in the transformation of a home in Scunthorpe as part of BBC One’s DIY SOS: The Big Build programme from the 25th to the 30th April.
The award-winning show, presented by Nick Knowles and his team of Billy, Mark, Chris and Jules, takes on extremely Big Builds across the country in just nine days. They completely rely on the support and generosity of the local community of tradespeople and suppliers to carry out the work, to help transform the lives of truly deserving families.
Speaking of the project Shaun said: "It's important to me to give something back when the opportunity comes up. We want to give the family their house back and give them a good future."
Keystone Lintels who have already supported our Construction department with some donations, also offered to sponsor Shaun’s Selby College branded clothing for the build.
We can’t wait to see the episode when it hits our screens sometime next year but until then the project and the house remains top secret!
