City and Guilds 3268 Welding - Levels 1, 2 &3
The Level 1 Award is ideal if you are new to the welding, metal fabrication, thermal cutting and brazing & soldering and want to gain knowledge and practical experience.
To gain a qualification you must successfully complete a number of practical assignments and an oral knowledge test. The training is aimed at those with little or no experience, maybe to assess their suitability for this type of work, DIY enthusiasts or those wanting to improve existing basic skills on a particular process.
The Level 2 Award is ideal if you are already working in welding and fabrication industries and are looking to develop your skills further, to increase your responsibilities and knowledge. To gain a qualification you must successfully complete a number of practical assignments and an oral knowledge test for each unit.
The training also provides welding personnel with the skills required for Welder Approval Test Certificate to BS EN4872 where welding procedure approval is not required. Ideal for maintenance or occasional welding requirements, and demonstrates welds are a sound quality. (BS EN4872 will incur Additional test fee if required)
The qualification offers a total of nine welding awards which involve five welding processes. The qualification is designed to enable candidates to gain welding skills and knowledge to a level that will enable them to work in complex positions. The training also provides welding personnel with skills for Welder Approval Test Certificate to BS EN9606 or ASME IX where welding procedure approval is required (typically insurance-related e.g. for pressure vessels, pipe work). Weld procedures can be third party, company in-house or prepared by the instructor for special job applications (ASME IX or BS EN9606 will incur Additional test fee if required)
