EAL Intermediate Diploma, Level 2

Plumbing

As part of the EAL Intermediate Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing, students will gain and develop the knowledge and skills to operate effectively as a plumber in the Building Services Industry. Students are trained to the standards set by the National Occupational Standards (NOS).


Students will have the opportunity to experience:

• Health and Safety in the Building Services Environment

• How to Communicate with Others within the Building Services Environment

• Scientific Principles within the Plumbing Industry

• Pipework Fabrication Processes and Techniques used in Domestic Plumbing

• Domestic Cold Water System Installation and Maintenance Techniques

• Domestic Hot Water System Installation and Maintenance Techniques

• Domestic Central Heating System Installation and Maintenance Techniques

• Domestic Above Ground Drainage System Installation and Maintenance Techniques

• Domestic Rainwater System Installation and Maintenance Techniques

• Renewable Technologies used in the Building Services Environment

On successful completion, you will be able to pursue a career in this occupational area. Many students choose to progress onto a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Plumbing & Heating. You could also progress to the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment.

Standard Vocational entry requirements apply – Four GCSE passes at Grade 3, at least a grade 4 in English or Maths. Neither English nor Maths will be below Grade 2. At least 2 GCSE subjects at Grade 3 are required alongside alternative GCSE equivalent qualifications. Please note: If you have not achieved a grade 4 or above in GCSE English or Maths you will be required to continue studying these alongside your college course.
