English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

Certificate in ESOL Skills for Life at Entry Levels 1-3 and Levels 1 and 2 (Module 2)

The course provides English classes in varying levels and is designed to help people who are living in the UK and who wish to learn or improve their English. Learners will have the opportunity to develop essential skills to progress in all careers.

The course covers and introduction to:

  • Speaking
  • Listening
  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Spelling and Grammar

Learners will receive homework to supplement (support) what has been learnt in class.

Learners will have the opportunity to work through the ESOL qualification levels to develop English skills. Developing English speaking, writing and reading skills and providing evidence of success through examination certification will enhance opportunities in all careers.

  • Learners must have completed Module 1 Introduction to English for Beginners. The course requires a commitment in time to guarantee success and this is more likely through regular attendance.
  • ID to be provided prior to course.
  • End of year examinations through the awarding body ASCENTIS in Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing the level of class most suitable for the learner.
  • In June/July students undergo examinations in these skills areas.
