Learner Charter
The Charter is reviewed on an annual basis and performance is monitored against key Charter statements. A summary report is on view in College.

Before you start your course of study at the College we will…
- make information, advice and guidance available to you, in person, by phone or post free of charge at Student Services
- publish a Prospectus by September of each year detailing our full-time programmes
- make Prospectuses available from Selby College Reception, Student Services or New Options and in local secondary schools, libraries and local careers offices
- publish an Adult course Directory in August of each year for courses starting in September and publicise other short courses throughout the year
- have a detailed course information leaflet available for every full-time course we publicise
- Inform you of minimum numbers required for courses to run wherever practicable
- provide you with clear, timely and accurate information about any costs you are likely to incur at any stage during your study at College
- visit all local schools in the Autumn of Year 11 and give introductory talks about life at college and opportunities available
- advertise at least two occasions in any year when you may visit the college to see our facilities and meet with staff
- Make available information about pass rates and destinations of students completing full-time courses
- carry out and publish an annual report detailing performance against the key College Charter standards
- be open for business for 50 weeks during any year
- Be able to contact Main Reception between 8.15am - 9.30pm (Mondays to Thursdays) and 8.15am - 4.30pm on Fridays in term time and 8.15am - 5.00pm outside standard term time
- acknowledge a written full-time application within 1 week of receipt
- invite you for interview within 4 weeks of receipt of your application to agree on the most appropriate course for you. Following this interview make you a specific written offer within one week of your interview
- base your interview around your Record of Achievement if you have one
- provide specialist guidance for people requiring additional support or needs based on our Disability Statement
- make available our Disability Statement to you on request
- offer you access to impartial advice
- provide you with information and advice about transport to and from College
- offer access to a flexible enrolment system
