The Sweetest Thoughts recipe book is a collection of specially selected mouthwatering desserts.
It was created by eight second year Catering & Hospitality students along with their Guidance and Support Tutor Angie Hobden, as a tribute to former Selby College student Scott Robinson who lost his battle against cancer in 2010.
Scott was a young man with a very promising career as a chef ahead of him. During the second year of his Catering and Hospitality course at Selby College Scott was diagnosed with testicular cancer which unfortunately proved terminal. He was just 18.
Scott's parents, Kathryn and Gary, have been involved in the project from the very beginning and have been instrumental in helping to sell it, raising vital funds for Cancer Research UK and Macmillan Nurses.
Sales of the book have surpassed our expectations with sweet toothed dessert fans in Spain, New Zealand, Kenya, Italy and Australia now also trying out the recipes.
If you would like to secure your copy, books are priced at £4.00 each plus £1 p&p and can be ordered by emailing thesweetestthoughts@selby.ac.uk.
Alternatively you can purchase them in person from the college Student Services department.
